The Care Quality Commission (CQC) are the independent regulator of health and social care in England.
the CQC make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourage them to improve.
They monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and publish what is found, including performance ratings to help people choose care.
From April 2013 all GP surgeries had to be registered with the CQC and they will carry out inspections to ensure that the surgeries meet national standards of care and treatment.
As patients of Sandy Lane Surgery you may be present when an inspection is carried out. The inspector will be involving patients in their inspection and you may be asked questions about the treatment and care you receive. The practice will notify you when you attend the surgery if an inspection is taking place.
The CQC or CARE AND QUALITY COMMISION visit and rate all NHS providers on a regular basis. To see the rating for this surgery click on this link CQC RATING FOR SANDY LANE SURGERY
